Hodges Contract 2
And whereas the said Benjamin Hodges is one
of the Occupiers of the said Estate, viz: as a Tenant
for Years under a Lease granted to Henry Foley
by the said Marquis then Earl of Salisbury on which
said Lease will explain on the 25th Day of Decr this Christmas Day in the
year of our Land one thousand eight seven hundred and
three
And whereas the said Benjamin Hodges is moreover
an Occupier of other parcels of the Land Estate
as Tenant at Will, and as such hath already recurred,
other of the said Jeremy Bentham as Land leased
thereof, virtue to quit the same at Markbailmans until
comming
And whereas the said Jeremy Bentham under
under the powers of the said offer and by by under the discretion
of the land Crummepowers of the Treasury hath gurn
hopes to the Land Benjamin Hodges to quit the possession
on the 25th of this instant March of all such tennants parcels of the reed
& lake as he hold, either on Lease or at Will and
thereupon to surrender to lease the land Jeremy Bentham all his right and interest to
our do in the -premises
And whereas the Land Benjamin Hodges hath [all
the denn of the said Jeremy Bentham given in an
Account or Estimate of the damage] should and made demand
of the sum of £3750 as the value of such has right
and interest upon the supposition of his being obliged a
quit possession as aforesaid on the day aforesaid was much
as such quitting of possession of the Lease held part of the said premises on such day the said 25th
instant instead of the said 25th of Decr 1803 would will be attended
with damaged to him the said Benjamin Hodges [and has
under Tenants] with amount of £[3700] and such quitting
