Chr XII Remedies
S. Prevention Remedies
Occasions for application

3
In the list of offences, in
bringing to view — under each
head — the eventually proceding
offences principal
and accessory, the applicable
preventive remedies will
also be given.

Throughout the whole list of offences,
under the head of each offence, care will
be taken to bring to view the several offences
principal and accessory, to by which it may
happen to the offence in its consummated
state to be preceeded. Of these indication will
of course be given under the head of each
several species of offence, indication will be
given of the preventive remedies, for the application
of which room is made by the nature
of the offence.

4
In these cases though
prevention is spoken of an
is the manifestly proper
remedy, a certain degree
of consummation must
have taken place, to create
the demand for prevention
remedy

In all these cases, though prevention is spoken
of and the prevention though not the only
is the manifestly proper remedy, yet by the supposition,
to evil in a certain shape prevention
has not been applied, but in lieu of it, a
sort of condemnation has in so far, taken
place: for if no evil in any shape has taken
place, no ground is there for any demand to
be made for the application of the so called
prevention remedy.

5
Hence a demand may
also take place for
ulterior species of remedies
to wit the satisfactive
and anti repetitional.

But for as much as by the supposition,
evil through delinquency has to a certain
amount actually taken place, hence
has may also taken place a demand for the two
of the ulterior sorts of remedies the satisfaction
to wit and the punitive in consideration
of its anti-repetitional or say
subsequently preventative properties.
