Evils of Imprisonmt: and Loss of Condition Domestic

The Evils resulting from the Forfeiture of the several Conditions following consist in
the loss of the Pleasures or the Advantages commonly annexed to the above Conditions, which
are as follow viz:

I.
Pleasures of Advantages incident to the
Condition of Husband or
Wife to such or such a person are
those derived from
1. The Use of his or her Person.
2. The Possession or hope of children
by him or her. Se No. II.
3. The Use of his or her Property.

II.
Pleasures or Advantages incident to the
Condition of Parent to such
or such a person are those derived from
1. The idea of the extension
of his own existence in the child.
Pleasure of the Imagination
2. The Recollection of the pleasure
of the intercourse to which
it (the child) owed its birth.
Pleasure of Recollection.

III.
Pleasures incident to the
Condition of Husband or
Wife, Parent, Child or
Relation to such or such
a Person are those derived from
1. The Succession or Prospect
of Succession to his or her
Property. Pleasures of
Possession or Expectation.

IIII.
To the Condition of Guardian
are those which are derived from
1. The power and interest
derived from the management
of his affairs. Pleasures of
the imagination, & of the Mor. Sanction
2. The Reputation derived from the
good management of his
affairs. Pleasures of the
Moral Sanction.
3. The Occasional use of his
property. Pleasures of
Possession &c

Pleasures or Advantages

Ward to such or such a person
are
1. The advantage of
receiving a good Education.
N.B. An Education is
good in proportion as it tends
to fit the party for procuring
in greatest abundance and
purity the several pleasures

nature is susceptible.
