We have seen on this occasion how ill seconded, and for how long tedious a
course of years the exertions of the God of War battles were
by other powers. Since that time the latter point period of time those powers
have been less adverse more favourable. Wisdom – official wisdom –
has for some years past been in a condition to check
the caprice and repair the errors of blind and unrelenting destiny.
It would have been in no s chargeable in no small degree
chargeable on the Right Honourable Brother and successor presumptive
successor of the noble Admiralty Clerk – it would have
been want of virtue in more shapes than one
wont of bro fraternal affection, want of human prudence,
if by so untimely a change succession as that of
peace to war dignity had been seen itself deprived of any
part of its support, virtue, antient and long tried virtue had seen herself deprived
of any part of her reward.

For above over these years past the councils of his Majesty
have been directed ostensibly till within these four months by a very portly merry
