1824 Decr 12
Constitutional Code. Note to p.4
Ch. VI. Legislature
§. 2 Responsibility

The act which repealed the proceedings by appeal was
a conspiracy against the life of every individual in the British Empire:
the conspirators were in an active way all who concurred
in the framing and passing of the Act: in a negative
conniving way all who suffered it to pass unopposed. As to
the passion they might may be left to sleep unobserved in the darkness to which
they consigned themselves: but as to the active, posterity might should not
to remain unacquainted with their names.
