Suppose the longer
Axis runs East
& West - Make
the North side for

the South: and the

A very little elevation
t of the
North will be sufficient
to enable a
spectator in the South
side to look under
it. But the elevation
must be more
considerable to enable
a spectator in the
North side to look quite
over the top of the
South side. Of this
elevation however
a good part will
be required to give
sufficient depth of
soil to the North
side.

This will give
ample descent for
the Covered River: so
much as to necessititate
a small cascade
