Inadvertence may regard either the existence of things or the dependency there is between themAn act of yours may be an act of inadvertence with
respect to the consequences on either of two accounts:
1st. on account of your not being apprised
of the existence of some circumstance which was of the
number of those fromon which the consequences
of it took depended their rise or 2ndly. from not knowing understanding
the dependency or connection there was in point
of causality between that and the other influencing
circumstances taken together and the
eventual consequences: that is the not knowing
that such consequences were likely to ensue
from such or such a circumstance or combination
