Difference between
Judge's & lawyer's should
be conspicuous
If both have gowns the difference between that
of the Judge and that of the Law practitioners should be conspicuous.
When affording the most conspicuous distinction, there can
be no need of any in stripe. Colour of the Judge's plain: that
of the Lawyers . The Judge's tone than
black: black gives the air of gloom and severity rending
the wearer an object rather of terror than amenable regard.
Colour of the Lawyers Cloak and brown and white
or black and white striped: this would be
emblematic: in such a degree sort that conception and recollection
might be needed
22
Functionary Advocates,
to be distinguished from
non functionary ones
The functionary Advocates should in this way be distinguished
to the eye from the on-functionary ones. Colours
in the first case say black and white: in the others
brown and white. In the case of the Government Advocate
the black stripe twin or three as broad as the white in
the case of the Advocate of the Helpless the stripe
twice or three as broad as the black.
23
Deputes dress the same
as their principal
In every instance the dress costume of the Deputes, whether
permanent or occasional should be the same as that of
their respective principals.
