expanded separated by the Common Sense from the rest of the Estate, and by a ditch from a meadow of Lord Grosvenors
running the whole length of it in a direction parallel
to the side which bounds abuts on Tothill Fields (at the back of it
restraining the ends adjoining to Tothill Fields as the front)
would afford a very adequate succedaneum to the the
minute portion of interjacent Road proposed to be later in. made
It is about the same breadth, and continues on the par
same line with the main part of existing line of Road till it two meets the Hollow
Walk, and then communicates with Tothill Fields, whereas
the 30 or 40 Yards proposed to be taken in turns off
from the main part at a sharp angle.

The tract acquired by this stating arrangement lost to
culture by this arrangement being nearly two acres, and
the ground gained not more than the 2/3 of an acre
the clear loss will be about 1 3/4 acres and three quarters:
but this sacrifice will be much more than compensated
by getting rid of the inconvenience from the intersecting Road especially as
a Road in the proposed new direction may have its use
with reference to the Penitentiary House itself.
