Mr Bentham

Wensday last I dined with your
Father and settled the Account that was between us
and to my great surprise he askd me to pay him the
Legacy my Brother left you.. I told him I thought
you was the proper person to Receive it...
he answerd he should give me a Receipt and I need
not fear him.. and that you should send me another
which I hope you will, as I comply'd with your
Fathers request. I must own against my inclination
but if you are pleased I am for it was the same
to me to pay it now, as for you to stay longer
I believe you are very sensible you was always
treated with Respect and kindness by my Brother
which I could not but suppose was pleasing to
your Father
