I sympathise with you, my dear Sam, most cordially
I cannot say I am in a very comfortable state of mind
myself: and that is the reason why you will not have
received the Longitude Memorial as you have desired
and I could wish. I have need of thy presence to animate
me; as thou hast of mine to comfort thee. I am at
present in a state of great inertia, and abbattement; however
I am not wholly idle.
You had as good not send your letter to Q.S.P.
till I talk to him - that shall be tomorrow. I shall tell
him the effect your his letter had on you: and that will do
more good than any thing you can say yourself.
