Hitherto I have waited in Expectation
of a line from you, as you promised at parting; but
as I imagine you may have forgot that promise, I write
this to put you in mind of it. —— Since you left Ox-
-ford it has been put beyond all doubt that there is
to be some publick Affair this next Act; but whether
an Encaenia or a Publick Act is not yet known
but will be determined by Voh in the Convocation-
-House as is said, in a little Time: whether we are
like to be honoured by their Majesty's presence, you can
tell I suppose better than we; tho' I suppose it can hardly
be known yet. An acquaintance was telling me last night
that Mr Jefferson had made him a kind of an Offer
