Friday Nov.r 22d 1776.

Vous pouvez si vous voulez montrer a
la personne ce quei la regarde — C'est a
vous a juger.

Publick News I have none to tell you but what is or will
be in the News-papers. The news of the day is that
a Quebec Gazette is come over of the 24th or 26th last
I forget which. It brings advice of the demolition of the
Rebel Fleet upon the Lakes. It consisted of 15 Vessels
12 were destroyd or taken; the remaining three for the
present escaped — particulars are promised in the next
Gazette Mr Lind's Mr Clark got this intelligence
from the Post office this afternoon; at which place
a paper was handd about to the effect above mentioned
a copy of which he shew'd me.

Saturday. 2
I began writing very late last
night, & got wet through hunting the
Bellman to no purpose — So you
will receive it a day the later.

There is said to be a terrible crash among the W.
India Merchants. One posted for 700,000 £.
Another for nearly that Sum, who will not pay
10s in the £.

Fitzherbert's Macaroni Brother, who was in his Brother's Chambers
when my Brother was in mine is made one of
the Sub-preceptors to the Prince of Wales. He is
said to be a man of sense and knowledge — He is lately
come from France Italy Germany &c and has the appearance
of a great Fribble (I believe you saw him)
but seemed very obliging and well-bred.

Wilson and I dine chez moi every day. We
manage matters very comfortably. He is studying the
doctrine of conveyances and every day at dinner - except
when he goes to Westm- Hall, brings me a sheet or
two of his writing, which we talk over in the evening.
I am by that means making advances in that most contrived
branch of the Law quite at my ease. He treats the
subject with metaphysical exactness, and altogether
upon my plan. Sometimes when a thought occurs to
me I myself contribute a page or two to the common
stock. I have brought him even to set up a t of
his own for coining words.

Since my last I have heard of the Fragment's being
Ld Camden's from another quarter.

+ to say nothing of the correction
of this offender; which comes in
comes without any particular provision
measures, the circumsta wealth of the aggressor & the rank circumstance in life as well as wealth of the aggrievd & this assessment quantum
dance of it therefore, to be just expedient should be governed not by one or two of these considerations
but by all of them together
