<p>Dear Sir, <lb/> After having made frequent<lb/> visits to the Castle, I was yesterday so fortunate<lb/> to find Harris the Keeper at home —<lb/> he was so very civil & communicative<lb/> that I was induced to tell him my<lb/> reasons <del>of</del> for my inquiries, he has<lb/> promised me, if you should come to<lb/> Oxon, to give you all the information<lb/> in his power. & will esteem the<lb/> perusal of your <hi rend="underline">book</hi> a particular<lb/> favor — the gaol is not yet finished<lb/> therefore his salary is not <sic>finaly</sic> determined<lb/> at present he has one hundred<lb/> & fifty guineas per annum<lb/> the County have the advantage of<lb/> all profits arriving from the Labor</p> | |||
