Art. 3. And whereas the Proposal of the said Jeremy<lb/>
Bentham which formed the ground of the present<lb/>
agreement was delivered in on or about the th of March and which <lb/>
which was in the year of our Lord 1793 and whereas<lb/>
since that time the prices of divers articles necessary<lb/>
as for the  and intended building may<lb/>
have undergone a very material enhancement And whereas<lb/>
in particular the peice of has within <lb/>
said undergone an enhancement by means of a <lb/>
duty thereon imposed by Parliament whereby there<lb/>
is reason to apprehend that the said sum of<lb/>
L27,000 although at the time when first stipulated for aforesaid, it was sufficient for the intended purpose,<lb/>
would not now be sufficient fo rthe same And<lb/>
whereas the delay from whence such increase of <lb/>
charge may have accrued has not happened through<lb/>
any default on the part of the said Proposer, but<lb/>
through the of the whereby the <lb/>
attention of Her Majesty;s Ministers has been <lb/>
called off to still more urgent <lb/>


Now therefore it is hereby<lb/>
further agreed that over and above the said originally<lb/>
stipulated sum of L27,000 shall be an allowance<lb/>
shall be made on the part of His Majesty to the <lb/>
said Jeremy Bentham sufficient to <lb/>
