It is possible my Son the Coll may have written to me
but if he has, his Letter has never reached me or perhaps
what is equally possible the Intercourse between Cherson &
Petersburgh may have been so difficult & hazardous,at
on account of the heat of War, that he might be dissuaded
from attempting it. However I shod be glad you wod sent to
him in ever so pressing; if you cod direct your Letter
to any some Person of being capable of forwarding it to
him at Cherson
