10 None of the Children of Believers, who<lb/>
are baptised in the name of the Father,<lb/>
Son, and Holy Ghost, living in the state of<lb/>
Infancy, can be counted in the number<lb/>
of those who are rejected by an absolute<lb/>
Decree.

The Doctrine of the Remonstrants with<lb/>
respect to the second Article, concerning the<lb/>
universality of the Merits of the Death of Christ.<lb/>


1. The ransom offered by Christ to this Father<lb/>
was not only sufficient in and by itself<lb/>
to redeem the whole race of mankind, but<lb/>
singular persons, <gap/> to the determination,<lb/>
with <gap/> Grace of God the Father; and<lb/>
from the benefits of the death of Christ by <gap/><lb/>
absolute and previous Decree of God.<lb/>


2. Christ has so far reconciled God the<lb/>
Father to the whole race of mankind by the merit<lb/>
of his death, that the Father has, consistently<lb/>
both with his Righteousness and truth, for the <lb/>
sake of those merits, been able and willing to<lb/>
enter into a new Covenant of Grace with Sinners,<lb/>
and those who were obnoxious to damnation.<lb/>


3. Altho Christ hath merited reconcilation<lb/>
to God, and pardon of sins for all mankind<lb/>
yet according to the terms of the new <add>Covenant</add> <del>Covenan</del><lb/>
of Grace, nonw can really partake of the advantages<lb/>
which Christ's Death has obtained,
