1828. March 15
Law Amendments

14 Ulto
Prepositions
(2) Ch. iv Oath none

or 2
Oath-exacting
Judges are Suborners

All the power and endurance zeal of these Judges is exhaustive employed
in the endeavour to committ subornation of perjury: to force men into perjury — in a word/other words in
course the commission of that crime, for which
they are at all times ready to inflict severe punishment on
other men. Say you believe in God and so doing take the oath
you will suffer nothing, whether what you so say is true or nor
be what you say true or false although what you say is false say you refuse to say
"say you do not believe in" God, or refuse to f in being
called upon forbear to do so, your testimony will be rejected
you will be held up to view as utterly unworthy of all
confidence, as being in a of impunity, ready
at all times to committ the criminal offences in every imaginable
shape, and to punish you for refusing thus to defile to defile
yourself
yourself with the mendacity with the out which the commission of we are thus striving to force you, with we will
give impunity to every crime of which you alone have been
witness.

or 3
Underscoring of
confidence are
such Judges.

Now let any every honest and sincere man lay
hand on heart and muse to himself, to what degree of
confidence can any such Judge being very well informed claim?
What ground can he have for believing, that there is any crime
by which that he would not at any time committ, if with assurance of impunity he could to any amount
how small so ever be regard himself as being sure
of being a gainer. What ground can he have for giving to
the assertion of such a Judge so high a degree of credit as
he would give to the assertion of a man who had been
sentenced to transportation for perjury by that same Judge?
The convict has once in his life committed perjury: the Judge
is every day of his life ready to suborn it? Compared with the
mischief
wickedness of the Judge,
does not that of the
convict shrink into
insignificance "Come
"forth" Lord of Eldon!
"come forth" Lord Tenterden
"Come forth" Mr Justice Barking! "Come forth" Mr Justice Push! Make answer to these questions, and if you are able save your character or for ever give as in a
phrase more intelligible to you Your
