Proposed Addendum for the Penitentiary Contract Bill
Provision for Exchanges as under the General Inclosure
Bill.
A & B have each of them a Field capable of answering
the purpose pro tanto and thereby liable to be taken for component
elements of the spot in question: at the same time that
by takng other lands, one of them alone, to wit either of
them, might serve.
A's land is a scrap distant from A's House -
B.'s land is contiguous to A.s House -
For the convenience of all parties, required power
to take both spots, for as for the purpose of appropriating
A.'s spot to the Establishment, and giving
him and equivalent portion of B.'s.
What there is new in the clause is, power to the
Crown to reconvey (uno flatu) for the purpose abovementioned
a part of whatever it shall have assumed.
The more the general the clause the better, in order
to comprize, if possible all the modifications of demand in
pointed of mutual accommodation.
