be capable of deposing on this occasion in the character of a

adequate degree effect be supplied by any other. Supposing
that on <gap/> this <gap/> occasion of the poisoners in question
the examination had gone proceeded as far as the nature of the
case admitted, there would be no use in any ulterior
examination of the Defendant unless some special <gap/>
occurrence presenting a demand for fresh inquiry had presented
itself.
