down on a separate piece of paper a clause designed
to remedy the supposed want of clearness, and
pinned the paper to the Draught.
At above 1/4 after Mr White returned.
Having been waiting for him on the pavement, I
joined him near the foot of his Staircase — not
a syllable his depos countenance and deportment
haughty, sullen and silent — Not a syllable nor
a gesture in the way of apology or regret for the
breach of appointment — On our entrance into
his chambers, he threw himself covered into his
elbow chair. I stood by the side of it uncovered.
Taking up my draught of the
clause, he he made no objection or observation on the matter, but yet began making alterations in it, saying
it was to accommodate the dra the passage to
Mr Atty Generals stile, the opinions of which however,
though many of the Atty Genls were contained
in the Draught. The alterations appearing
to me to be either immaterial or equivalent, I
