Of favouring Desertion
therefore which any one nation state makes in this way

Upon the whole therefore it appears that there are
two ways in by which this branch of the public force
may undergo a relative diminution: O by the
desertion of a man from the service of the state in question: it's serviced: and by

foreign service.
Disabling one's Self from Serving. It is a kind of desertion where a man mutilates
himself in any manner in order render
himself incapable of serving. This offence belongs also
to the Military Law.
