Mr Blaquiere was furnished with a variety of letters – & among
thems from some addressed to the Greek government by Lord Erskine, the latter part of whose
life was almost wholly devoted to the subject of Greece – a
subject which rekindled his early enthusiasm – & gave new
order to his latter days. The Committee cannot avoid
dwelling for a moment with sympathy & regret on the loss of many illustrious men,
who have been associated in their labours exertions, who in the short
period of its existence have ceased from their generous
& public labour efficient public labour – Lords Byron & Erskine – D Ricardo & General
