examination of those propositions to which
he is by & by to giv declare again & again his unfeigned
assent] opinion is to be demanded of him with any other disposition than
that of a fixed resolution at any rate to
find them true?

The study of the Scriptures which they recommend,
& which alone they will endure, is
the study of those method arguments which are to
be sought out of the Scriptures in favor
of a System which at any rate they are must be
resolved, & which by a desperate leap in
the dark they have will have plunged themselves
into the necessity, to defend. — Ecclesiastes
