having them all the while in his hands the Author<lb/>
of the Report does not take any the smallest notice, or<lb/>
give any the least intimation of their existence.</p>
<p>V.  That of their attention to those several points <del>the</del> neither<lb/>
the Administration of which the Author of this Report made<lb/>
a part, nor himself in particular nor any other person<lb/>
being a member of that same Administration had ever<lb/>
given either the like proofs or any other proofs.</p>

Panopt. Observ. on Holford's Report

Before entering into a any particular examination of those
several charges imputations, it may here be not amiss to oppose
to those several general general heads of charge, such
general heads of answer or defence as will be found to apply to them.

I. That of For his part attention to those several points and for the closeness and anxiety of that attention the official person
the appointed Governor in question had given such proofs and thereby for his
eventual future attention such pledges, as neither then had
nor ever since have been given by any other individual
whatsoever.

II. That to the Author of this Report those proofs and those
pledges were thoroughly known, or might and would have

which in this Report is brought forward in the character
