Correspondent and opposite to conciseness is over-bulkiness:
it which that which it bears reference to
is the ratio between the extent of the thought and the
number of the words contained in the locution employed
in giving expression to it.

To this subject applies the following rule principle
which may be termed the word-minimizing principle.
The Corresonding Rule: may be then expressed.

The thought being given, and the expression supposed locution employed
in giving expression to it being supposed commensurate to it, minimize the number of
words of which the locution is composed.

Or in the language of proportionality say thus

The thought being given, and the locution employed
in giving expression to it being supposed commensurate
to it, the aptitude of the locution is inversely as
the number of the words of which it is composed.

Where bearing this without prejudice to the
commensurateness of the locution the overplus in
words is capable of being substracted or say eliminated
without prejudice to the commensurateness of the
locution – in other words the amendment requisite amendment capable
of being made by simple elimination, substraction
or say defalcation, the diff number of words thus
capable of being defalcated constitute, with reference
to the locution as it stands, that which in lawyer's
language is termed surplusage.

The benefit Of the operation by which utterance
is given to the matter of discourse the benefit is composed of
the thoughts conveyed to the minds of the several receivers – indicative
or : the burthen, or say the expence or price paid of the locuti
