It was but t'other day that the antecedent was<lb/>
thought to be proved - at least at the point of being<lb/>
so. The Bank of England, the great support of<lb/>
national credit <add>the credit of government</add> [stopped payment] committed Bankruptcy.<lb/>
This was supposed to be almost the same<lb/>
event as that of the Governments being Bankrupt having<lb/>
committed Bankruptcy &#x2014; and at any rate as being <add>it was supposed</add><lb/>

stood thus - Whenever the Bank is Bankrupt, there<lb/>

It was but t'other day that the antecedent was
thought to be proved - at least at the point of being
so. The Bank of England, the great support of
national credit the credit of government [stopped payment] committed Bankruptcy.
This was supposed to be almost the same
event as that of the Governments being Bankrupt having
committed Bankruptcy — and at any rate as being it was supposed
on the point of that the first event was on the point
of bringing about the second. The political logic then
