this good Rule (as I suffer no stroke to be given the tender<lb/>
hearted Lord W. Seymour endeavoured to break through</p>

If any Pauper Steal whether in or out of the Workhouse instead of<lb/>

I make choise of a Master & Mistress that has no Family for the
Work

The Master Appointed by the Gen Overseer. As he is to be Accountable
for his conduct certainly ought to have the appointment of the Person
who is to Superintend the Workhouse. Unless you do this you do nothing.
When Appointed his Salary is 10 pound P Annum & 2 Pence out of
every Shilling that is earnted in the Workhouse

The Rules to be Observd by him are as follows
1st The House to be washd every Week Swept every Morng Sprinkled
with Vinegar & Bitter Herbs twice or thrice a Week in Hot
weather to prevent disorder Fevers &c &c

2nd
No Person admitted without a Note From the Overseer
