5 Horses &c Number of Hills Notwithstanding Article XXIII such number of Beasts may
be used for drawing up hills within such limits as Trustees
with the allowance of the Quarter Sessions shall according to Art. have appointed, not exceeding so far broadwheeled Carriages nor & for narrow wheeled.

6 Horses &c Number Snow—Ice— Also any number may be employ'd in such parts of any —
road where by reason of deep Snow, Ice, or [Floods] carriages
can not be drawn with the weights allowed+ Art
By the number of Beasts allowed || By Artdeleted text and the —
Magistrate being satisfied by the Oaths of 2 Wtinesses of
the existence of such impediment, shall dismiss such prosecution,
& forthwith cause whatever may have hath been seized
on account thereof to be restored.
