9<lb/><head>Panopticon Bill.</head><note>Felony Ind:<add>ion</add> Money</note><p>such Treasurer taking for his indemnity the said Bill<lb/>of exchange, <sic>indorsed</sic> to him by the person to whom the money<lb/>shall have been so advanced: or should such Court in any<lb/>instance have any other funds at its disposal, it may in<lb/>like manner cause such advance to be made out of any such<lb/>other funds: and for the drawing of which said Bill such<lb/>Officer may take for his fee 1<hi rend="superscript">£</hi>, adding the same to the<lb/>amount of such Bill together with the price of the stamp.</p><p>Art. 9. If in such case by the warrant of<lb/><note>9<lb/>Prisoner, having assumed<lb/>a false name, may be<lb/>proceeded against ex-nomine -</note><lb/><sic>committment</sic> or otherwise it appears to the Court that the prisoner<lb/>had since the imprinting of such mark unlawfully<lb/>assumed any name other than such as is in the said mark<lb/>contained the Court may thereupon order an indictment for<lb/>such offence to be drawn up on the spot: for the trial on which<lb/>indictment no finding of the Bill by any Grand Jury<lb/>shall be necessary: and if on the spot there should chance<lb/>to be sufficient evidence, the Court may then &amp; there charge<lb/>the same or any other Jury with the trial of the Prisoner for<lb/>the said offence: or if there should not be sufficient evidence,<lb/>or on the prayer of the Prisoner the Court should see reason<lb/>to adjourn the trial in order to give time for the production of<lb/>evidence on his part, the Court may adjourn the trial<lb/>accordingly, and may <sic>committ</sic> the prisoner in the mean time<lb/>although he or she shall have be acquitted of the principal offence.<lb/><note>Art. 10.</note></p>
