<p>Proposed Amendment to the Penitentiary Bill <add>as</add> <unclear>delernd</unclear> this day by<lb/>
Sir S. Thornilly to NE <unclear>Mox</unclear> and by him to Mr Bentham, as <gap/><lb/>
been <sic>deliverd</sic> to him (Sir S.) by Mr <unclear>Wotford</unclear> by whom the Bill had<lb/>
been brought in.</p>
<p>Whereas it is stated on behalf of<lb/>
the said Jeremiah Bentham that upon<lb/>
the said Arbitrators making their final<lb/>
<unclear>toward</unclear>it will appear that a considerable<lb/>
is due to the said Jeremy<lb/>
Bentham;</p>
<p>Be it therefore enacted that it shall<lb/>
and may be lawful for the said Jeremy<lb/>
Bentham forth with to deliver in to<lb/>
the Lords Commissioners of this Majesty's<lb/>
Treasury ab account of <add>the</add> Sums<lb/>
considered by him to be due to him<lb/>
together with as talement of all the <gap/>
received by them as <unclear>aforsacd</unclear> upon<lb/>
the receipt of which <gap/>

been brought in.

Whereas it is stated on behalf of
the said Jeremiah Bentham that upon
