I had the pleasure on my arrival here to find<lb/>
my two Aunts perfectly well; my Uncle is gone a Journey<lb/>
he was obliged to take in consequence of his place in the<lb/>
Hawkin's &amp; Pedlar's Office; but is expected here some time<lb/>
next week. M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> Mulford dined here last Saturday <unclear>se'night</unclear>,<lb/>
at which time he was just come off his Warwickshire expedition:<lb/>
he called, I understand at Oxford <del>at</del> <add>on</add> his return. the<lb/>
Country every where hereabouts has been burnt up as much as<lb/>
with us: they have not even had near so much rain as we had<lb/>
on Saturday &amp; Sunday: butter is at 9<hi rend="superscript">d</hi> p<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> £ at Basingstoke.<lb/>
till we came to about Maidenhead yesterday the roads were<lb/>
perfectly sloppy: but all the way from thence there was not<lb/>
the least appearance of any rain. some Company came to breakfast<lb/>
here on Wednesday &amp; carried my Aunt Grove with them<lb/>
the same day to Andover; <del>but who</del> <add>where</add> she <sic>staid</sic> till Saturday:<lb/>
but who they were I am not informed. - they have but little<lb/>
Paper here &amp; I forgot to take some down: I will therefore<lb/>
beg the favour of you to send me a Quire down by Sammy<lb/>
which will do equally as well. My Aunts desire their<lb/>
love &amp; Compliments, &amp; are very sorry to hear of your indisposition;<lb/>
but hope soon to hear of your speedy Re-</p>
