For securing on the part of the Governor, the punctual<lb/><note>1<lb/>List of Penitentiary<lb/>Prisoners received to be<lb/>transmitted to every Felony<lb/>Court --</note><lb/>payment of his indemnification money as well as for the<lb/>further prevention of Escapes, Be it enacted as follows:</p><p>So soon as the proofs of marking the Penitentiary<lb/>Prisoners with their identification marks is accomplished the<lb/>Governor shall cause to be made an alphabetical list of their names<lb/>according to such marks together with an exact fac-simile or<lb/>other copy of each mark opposite the name: which said list<lb/>shall be <sic>stiled</sic> The List of Penitentiary Admissions<lb/>and thereof shall cause to be sent a copy (which may be done<lb/>by Post) to every Court holding plea of Felony within<lb/>Great Britain which said copies shall respectively be directed<lb/>to the Clerk or other proper Officer of each respective Court.</p><p>Art. 2. At a proper time before the first day of every<lb/><note>2<lb/>-- to be continued every<lb/>session by supplemental<lb/>Lists --</note><lb/>subsequent periodical sitting of every such Court viz: at the<lb/>respective times when by the course of the Post the copies so sent<lb/>would arrive at the respective places a few days preceding such<lb/>first day as aforesaid the Governor shall moreover cause to be<lb/>sent in like manner a similar list of all such Prisoners as<lb/>have been received since the making of the last preceding<lb/>dispatch as abovementioned.</p><lb/>Art. 3. | |||
