Woolwich Tuesday Morn.
Dear Brother
The Tide does not suit to come by watter,
If you cant possibly come send word immediately
It is with great pleasure I acquaint you that
my Pump answers even beyond my expectations, and
that Mr Gray likes it much the Comptroler was
here yesterday and Mr Gray told him I had got
a very pretty contrivance concerning the pump, and
that he intended to shew it to the Surveyor next
Saturday and that after that he should see it.
But my plan of operations is otherwise therefore I
wish Mr Poore and you would come down to
Woolwich next Thursday, and you will much oblige
Yours Sam.l. Bentham.
My hands are so old I can scarce hold the Pen.
