Lind has received a number of ideas of my Brothers relative to
Shipbuilding with approbation: and made him many valuable
communications in return. But unfortunately the Dr is by this time
time on his voyage to the E. Indies.

Sr Ch. Douglas of the Duke who in the fortunate part of
the Canadian expedition distinguished himself not less by his
skill in naval architecture than by his abilities in his
own immediate line has also taken a good deal of notice
of my brother; has at different times communicated with him
a great deal on the subject: & I should hope, though I
speak without authority, would not be backward upon any
occasion, in expressing a favourable opinion of him.
