<Add> 1783-7-26
Windsor July 26th
Mr B will do very well to get himself introduced
to Mr Fraser upon the occasion of his brother's remaining
at St Petersbourg Charge d'affaires, but there would
be the greatest impropriety in his talking to F. either about
credentials or appointments for the latter as persons in his
situation never have any credentials, and as to appointments
through the office commonly allows 2£ per diem
this is given as a matter not of right but of favour — any
solicitations therefore upon this subject would wear, particularly
at so early a period, a most ungracious appearance,
and do Mr B. of Petersburgh the greatest disservice.
