Dear Sir<lb/>
I have just been favour'd with a visit from<lb/>
a young Gentleman (Son of a M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> Love who has lately<lb/>
settled in this Town) who has left the Crimea<lb/>
but a short time. he served under Admiral<lb/>
Mordwinoff &amp; commanded a vessel in the same<lb/>
Fleet in which Sir Samuel Bentham so particularly<lb/>
distinguish'd himself. Mr. Love was him in<lb/>
good health in October 1700, about the time he set<lb/>
off for Siberian. in Feb last Mr Love saw Major<lb/>
Newton who was charged with Sir Samuel's account<lb/>
of his Discoveries to the Empress at Petersburgh from<lb/>
whence he went to prince Potemkin at Jassi. The <lb/>
Major left Sir Samuel in good health in November<lb/>
last vigorously prosecuting a commercial intercourse<lb/>
between Russia &amp; China. Major Newton said that<lb/>
Sire Samuel intended to go soon, to petersburgh, and before<lb/>
