Police Report I

It is only in so far as expence is concerned
that Your Committee are authorized to apply
those enquiries to any branch of the business
of government: but so far as expence is concerned
there is seems no part of that business into which Your
Committee do not appear to be bound by the
orders of the House to extend these enquiries researches
according to the measure of their abilities faculties and
their time.

There are two ways in either of which the
reduction of Surveyd in their totality The expences which have delinquency
for their source may be classed under three <add>four headswill be found when sought
to take a very extensive range. To this head
may be referred

1. The Damage or other expense which in the
instance of an extensive class of offences,

is the
immediate result of the offence itself, independently
of all means that may be employd
to combat it - amount of the loss for instance
by goods stolen, burned or otherwise damaged
or destroyed.
