Mr Bentham's Compliments to Mr Glanvill, and
Considering the magnitude of his Demand and that it
is so much out of Time, he finds it incumbent
upon him, for the sake of his own Character, as well
as to do himself Justice, that Papers relative to
Transactions of above seven years standing, to the
Contents of which he was an absolute Stranger till
the 11th of this month, should be examined by some
Competent Judge, and he has therefore given
them into the hands of One, that where he is persuaded
Mr Glanvill, when he knows it is Mr Shakespear
neither will nor neither will nor can have any objection to, as he
is a Person of the first in the first Instance in point of abilities, Experience & Character in Mr Granvill's
own Trade whose Character and the highest reputation in it and and of the highest Character in it, which
is the sole reason for Mr Bentham's Consulting him
upon the occasion.
