<p>during the first year: except only the amount of the premiums<lb/>

<p>Art. 6. The said Jeremy Bentham and his Successors as<lb/>
abovementioned shall moreover be respectively allowed to employ the<lb/>
Prisoners for the proper benefit of them the said Governors to<lb/>
receive to themselves the whole produce and profit of their labour,<lb/>
and the same to retain, subject only to the allowances to be made<lb/>
to such Prisoners in manner herein after mentioned.<lb/></p>
 
<p>Art. 7. Each Prisoner shall be supplied every day with<lb/>
wholesome food, as much as he shall choose: but the quality in <lb/>
other respects is expressly reserved to the choice of the said<lb/>
Jeremy Bentham and his Successors as a means of engaging<lb/>
the said Prisoners, without the spur of corporal severities, to set<lb/>
their hands to labour.<lb/></p>
 
<p>Art. 8. Each Prisoner shall be kept properly <sic>cloathed,</sic><lb/>
and to that purpose shall be supplied at least once a year with<lb/>
a <sic>compleat</sic> suit of such<sic> cloaths</sic> as shall be allotted, and with<lb/>
a clean shirt at least twice in every week.<lb/>

<p>Art. 9. Each Prisoner shall be constantly supplied with<lb/>
a separate Bed and Bedding of sufficient warmth, and kept<lb/>
in a state of constant cleanliness; clean sheeting or blanketing<lb/>
being supplied to each at least once in every month.<lb/></p>
 
<p>Art. 10. The Prison shall at all proper seasons and in<lb/>
every part thereof be sufficiently warmed and lighted.<lb/></p>
 
<p>Art. 11. No Prisoner shall be suffered to have access to<lb/>
any kind of spirituous or fermented liquor, except in as far<lb/>
as the same shall have been prescribed in the way of Medicine.<lb/></p>
 
<p>Art. 12. A Chaplain, being a Clergyman of the Church<lb/>
of England, shall be provided ho in person or by Occasional<lb/></p>
