of official persons

liberty to plead and
prove the truth of
the imputation
delinquency in any respect of any part of his political duty or power

From the best of the species of evidence thus producible Defendants own
evidence not excluded

Nor that of any person on whom the imputation nor that of any
person on whom the
imputation attaches

made to questions tending to the extraction of such evidence,
affords not any receivable ground for the exclusion
of it: that is for forbidding such question to be put.(a)
