to send me here to a Col.l Bentham
an Englishman; This Gentleman
is now only thirty years old
He explored great part of Siberia
at the age of Twenty. His Report
of that Country pleased her Majesty
so much, that he has now the
command of two Battallions and
a Commission to go where he will
upon discovery, even to pass the
Frontier any where. He has
six English Saylers, who are now
upon an Expedition to find a Passage
from Tobolsky to Archangel,
another Party of People in the
Chinese Tartary. He and I set
out tomorrow with a proper
Guard into the Mountainous Country
