<p> <foreign>vide</foreign> Pages 115 to 117 </p> <p> Sir London <sic>Aug.</sic> 16 1790</p> <p> I received the favour of your letter of <sic>Ag<hi rend="superscript">t</hi><lb/>12<hi rend="superscript">th</hi> <sic>inst<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</sic> I am much obliged by your permission to take <lb/>a copy of your Essay on Penitentiary Houses, which I shall get <lb/> done immediately & return you the manuscript</p> <p> I shall also avail myself of the liberty which you <lb/>have given to me of publishing it (after you have seen it) <lb/> in Ireland; it is the most likely method to procure the adoption<lb/> of the system therein its fullest extent.</p> <p> I am not yet authorized by the persons in Irish<lb/>government to bring forward the measure & to provide for the <lb/> expense of it, but I expect that they will direct me to do so — <lb/> I shall be able, very soon ( on my return to Ireland) to let <lb/>you know their determination.
