The above account incompleat sketch<add>narration<add>relation</add></add> which, though (I believe) not
sent, was designs written in the intention of being
sent - and written at the time when the impression
made by every accid incident was fresh in the memory
- may serve (as already intimated) as far
as it goes. But, being writte addressed to a person,
whose time would not admit of long details, it
was a very abbreviated one, and several particulars
of a naturesort not much in danger of stepping
evaporating quickly being obliteratedevaporating out of the memory, may
be here subjoined.


Upon Mr Rose'sthe Honourable Secretary's setting pen to paper as
above, I soon found that the but too much
reason to be satisfiedassured that the mistatement was
wilful, and probably pre- concistedpre-arranged. not an idea
of itof what he wrote bore the smallest resemblance to whathe had dictated
made me dictate. - Articles, four or five in number - each. Articles 4 or 5, each vying with the other
rest in absurdity: the one that the one above reported ismay serve as a specimen,
but it is but one. The experienced cloudiness of
the Honourable Secretary's conceptions might have
accounted for a good deal: but no degree of
honed misconception could have accounted for
half the absurdity, which , under my very eye, he
had the assurance to put into my mouth.
