The statement is concern: but it will be
none the less useless for illustration (7/2)

[ A German writer philosopher in the account of his
voyages and travels in South America speaks of a
nation so destitute in this respect, so destitute in
respect of that part of the means of communication converse that
comes belongs <add>rules written under the department of arithmetic under
the arithmetical department of science, that for
designating so small a number as these, a
word which he reports and which is composed of no fewer than nine or ten about ten syllables
is the only word term in use.

But for the purpose of objects and
distinguishing them from one another an each object from every other less voluminous better
and incommodious so ever according to the
account of it, the arithmetic of these
are found to be, still a sort of arithmetic they
find, and to the extent of their capacity come in the
habit of putting to use.

But in England the men of law such as
so successful has been less ingeniously and has contrived
to direct stop of all after whatsoever assistance
it is in the nature of arithmetic to afford that part
of the language which the constancy of the people have has
suffered him to take into his hands possession of and mould
to his own purposes
