<p>to reverence, your Lordships would at least not be forward<lb/>
to run counter to, or to set aside, a decision, or if it were<lb/>
only an <hi rend="underline">opinion</hi> given by such authority under the special<lb/>
appointment of the law. Greater impartiality, less<lb/>
respect of persons, more decided preference of right to favour,<lb/>
more firmness against undue influence, surely will not be<lb/>
looked for elsewhere: not in the breast of any Minister,<lb/>
not even in your Lordships Board (with respect be it spoken)<lb/>
not even in his Majesty's Cabinet itself. Receiving<lb/>
this spot as an unexceptionable one from the hands of the<lb/>
12 Judges, certified as such after &amp; notwithstanding the reclamations<lb/>
of certain of the inhabitants to the contrary,<lb/>
your Lordships will not surely set out, in person at least,<lb/>
in quest of another spot, and that without having any<lb/>
particular spot in view, without any other view than that<lb/>
of avoiding the spot which has been approved of by<lb/>
the 12 Judges. As little will your Lordships be disposed<lb/>
to disperse yourselves for such a purpost, to pick up<lb/>
what intelligence may be to be collected in your several<lb/>
individual capacities, from this or that friend or dependent<lb/>
at your individual Boards, or from this or that individual,<lb/>
or from the friend or dependent of this or that<lb/>
individual, whose wishes or apprehensions may interest<lb/>
him in the choice. Still less will your Lordships think<lb/>
of sending either of your Secretaries (it is not of the person<lb/>
that your Memorialist speaks but of the situation)<lb/>
still less will your Lordships think of deputing any person<lb/>
from such an office, and that a single person, on so <add>invidious</add></p>
