Manufactories.</head><p>After so much as has been said, on the application of<lb/>our principle to the business of manufactures <gap/> considered as carried on by<lb/>by forced labour, you will think a very few words more than sufficient, in<lb/>the view of applying it to manufactures carried on upon the ordinary plan<lb/>of freedom.</p><p>The centrality of the presiding person's situation will<lb/>have its use at all events: for the purpose of direction and order at least,<lb/>if for no other. The concealment of his person will be of use, in as far<lb/>as <sic>controul</sic> may be judged <sic>usefull</sic>. As to partitions, whether they<lb/>would be more serviceable in the way of preventing distraction, or <del>disserveable<lb/>disserve</del> disserviceable by impeding communication, will depend<lb/>upon the particular nature of the particular manufacture. In some<lb/>manufactories they will have a further use, by the convenience they may<lb/>afford for ranging a greater number of tools than could otherwise be<lb/>stowed, within the workman's reach. our principle to the business of manufactures considered as carried on by
