GEOMETRY

The Use of each Proposition of Geometry [pure Mathematics] should be exemplified in some
Science [mixed Mathermatics]. De Chales has
done this at the end of each proposition,

these examples were collect ed together in a
separate Volume, this Separate Volume might
either be systematic treatise on some branch
of natural Philosophy in some part or other
of which there is an example of the Use
of each Prop of Geometry and many of
some of them, or it might be a be
Miscellanious work consisting either only
of some one use to each Prop
is applied, or of a variety of examples
in all sorts of learning [subjects.] to which
Geometry which owe their truth
accuracy foundation to Geometry.

One fault in Geometrical demonstrations is
Imperfection
of Some
Demonstrations that all the Intermediate Ideas are not enumerated
so that altho every the nothing which is asserted

during the progress of the demonstration can
be denied yet the conclusion does not seem to
procede from the stated facts, the reason of
this must be that all the intermediate Ideas
[+] That the Author had
other intermediate Ideas
besides those which he
communicate to the
Scholar reader were not enumerated [+]for if they were and the comparisons
made why it is that the learner asserts not to the Conclusion as
rends by as to the assertions on which it depends.
