Nobody seems to entertain any apprehension about the
fate of the Bill: the Bishop of Bangor included, whom I
had the honour of waiting upon at his own House last
night, as I said I should. His hypothesis is, that Ld
Spencer will recuse himself with saying a few words, after
which the Bill will pass, which he supposes may be tomorrow:
In the event of a serious opposition he has undertaken to give me
timely notice.

This day came a letter from Burket, desiring that the
Burcan may be evacuated, and the contents put into any
Box.

Amidst the general joy, Citizen Stanhope has had his
windows completely demolished last night whether for non-illumination, or for
suspicion on non-illuminatory dispositions.

Brian told me at noon today that between 2 & 3 in the
morning all the servants were up and in a great hubbub under
the apprehension of a mandate to illuminate — Dumont & I lay
very snug and knew nothing of the matter
