Juries
Prison Lawyers up of scarce any thing but defects have been
employ'd not in remedying them but in
palliating them and treating practising upon an English
public the arts that are found so successful upon an
English Jury. When in the House of
Commons a Lawyer talks speaks of his duty , by
duty he always means understood to mean the duty of selling
his veracity and sincerity to individuals
[for money] elsewhere in another place , not the duty of serving
the public in that House . in a House into
which however though sent by Constituents or supposed
Constitutents he is scarcely seen to enter you will scarcely see him
but when hidden by at the call of party , or for want of
